BIO

Brent is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and is a graduate of California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting & Management. He has provided tax, accounting, and consulting services for businesses, non-profits, and individuals for over 20 years. He works with clients at all stages, from the new startup to well-established businesses.

In addition, he has a passion for community and youth development.  He is actively involved in the community with various non-profits and churches.

​

Outside of his work life, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing guitar, reading, writing, running, cheering on LA sports teams (go Dodgers, Rams, Lakers!), and enjoys playing sports of almost any kind.  Brent has been married to Lisa for over 20 years and they have two children (twin boys).

EXPERIENCE & SPECIALTIES

Brent began his career with Deloitte & Touche and later worked as a manager for a local accounting firm providing business and individual tax, accounting, and consulting services.  His experience extends to working as the Chief Financial Officer for a large multi-site church. 

 

He has owned and operated his own practice, Taylor & Company, for over 15 years.  Brent and the team at Taylor & Company specialize in services for non-profits and churches and have worked for many years within the financial operations of non-profits and churches of various sizes.  This hands-on experience provides practical understanding and insight for non-profit and church financial and operational consulting, financial reporting, and handling of fund accounting matters.

Brent also specializes in service businesses including consulting firms, engineering, healthcare, and more. He has extensive experience in preparing S-corporation tax returns and the shareholder/owner individual tax returns.  He has provided tax planning and advisory services to help S-corporations and their owners maximize tax savings while remaining in compliance.
